Upper Merion Area came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Boyertown Bears, falling 3-0. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

While Upper Merion Area was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-12, 25-23.

Danielle Thornton paced Upper Merion Area's offense, picking up 11 kills. Thornton got some help from Emily Nguyen and her 26 assists.

Upper Merion Area's loss dropped their record down to 11-9-1. As for Boyertown, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Upper Merion Area didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Methacton on the 30th. As for Boyertown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Spring-Ford on the 30th.
