Vermilion has gone a perfect 3-0 against Lorain recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Sailors will head out to challenge the Titans at 12:30 p.m. Vermilion will be strutting in after a win while Lorain will be coming in after a loss.
On Thursday, Vermilion was able to grind out a solid victory over Margaretta, taking the game 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sailors.
The win didn't come easy: Margaretta scored at least 21 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-23, 19-25, 25-23, 25-21.

Vermilion relied on the efforts of Haley Stepp, who had 14 digs and two aces, and Payton Strickler, who had seven digs. Those seven digs gave Strickler a new career-high.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Lorain's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Brunswick by a score of 3-2.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Lorain sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-27, 25-19, 20-25, 15-5.
Lorain's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Vermilion, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.
Everything went Vermilion's way against Lorain in their previous matchup back in September of 2019, as Vermilion made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Sailors repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
