Basketball Recap: Maiden Starts Season with Victory Against Forestview + How To Watch

Maiden had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took their matchup on Thursday with ease, bagging an 83-17 win over the Forestview Jaguars. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 58-9.

Maiden had a senior duo take command as Khiara Culliver shot 91% from the field en route to 18 points and four steals and Raegan Rembert went 6-for-11 on her way to 16 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Culliver is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last 15 games she's played dating back to last season. Amelia Beal was another key player, shooting 83% from the field to rack up 13 points.

Maiden was working as a unit and finished the game with 28 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Forestview only posted four.

Forestview's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Maiden wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 93-21 victory against Piedmont Community Charter on the 24th. As for Forestview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-36 defeat against Bessemer City on the 21st.
