Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Laguna Acoma). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Northwest Falcons a 22-0 shutout on Saturday. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 11 runs or more this season.

Laguna Acoma got a massive performance out of Patrick Smith, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. What's more, Smith posted four RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Tagoya Pedro was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while going 4-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for Laguna Acoma and bumps their season record up to 6-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Northwest, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Laguna Acoma will be playing at home against Hozho Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northwest, they will square off against Non Varsity Opponent at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
