Softball Game Preview: Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Red Raiders vs. Mahanoy Area Golden Bears

The Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Red Raiders will challenge the Mahanoy Area Golden Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mahanoy Area took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Our Lady of Lourdes Regional, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Our Lady of Lourdes Regional earned a 13-10 win over Nativity BVM. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Raiders.

Gabby Dusendschine was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Karissa Koronkiewicz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and four runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Our Lady of Lourdes Regional kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 2.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.4.

Meanwhile, Mahanoy Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 14-6 to Marian Catholic.

Naomi Kowalick was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Ella Brode was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-10. As for Mahanoy Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
