Baseball Game Preview: Briarwood Academy Buccaneers vs. Lincoln County Red Devils

The Briarwood Academy Buccaneers will take on the Lincoln County Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Briarwood Academy's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Glenn Hills as Briarwood Academy made off with a 20-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Buccaneers.

Ryder Johnston was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Johnston was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

The win (which was Lincoln County's third in a row) raised their record to 3-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs over those games. As for Briarwood Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Briarwood Academy might still be hurting after the 14-4 loss they got from Lincoln County when the teams last played back in February of 2023.
