Basketball Preview: Glenelg Gladiators vs. Marriotts Ridge
The Glenelg Gladiators will look to defend their home court on Monday against Marriotts Ridge at 5:30 p.m.
Last Friday, Glenelg had to suffer through a rough 58-25 loss at the hands of the Golden Bears. While losing is never fun, Glenelg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 21st).
Meanwhile, Marriotts Ridge scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 48-12 win over Reservoir. The victory was some much needed relief for Marriotts Ridge as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
This is the second loss in a row for Glenelg and nudges their season record down to 4-10. As for Marriotts Ridge, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-14.
Everything came up roses for Glenelg against the in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 48-18 win. Does Glenelg have another victory up their sleeve, or will the turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
