Sunlake's loss ends four-game winning streak on the road

Recap: Sunlake Seahawks vs. North Tampa Christian Academy Titans

It was a good run, but the Sunlake Seahawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 83-37 loss at the hands of North Tampa Christian Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sunlake has scored all season.

Sunlake lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Manntavius Goodman, who scored nine points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Nicolas Nina, who scored seven points along with two steals.

It was another big night for Toni Bryant, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds for North Tampa Christian Academy. Bryant is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Landyn Colyer, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Sunlake's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8. As for North Tampa Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 21-2 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home.

Sunlake won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against St. Petersburg at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for North Tampa Christian Academy, they will square off against Williston at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
