Flag Football Game Preview: Whitney Young Dolphins vs. Westinghouse Warriors

The Whitney Young Dolphins will face off against the Westinghouse Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Whitney Young's defense has only allowed 7.7 points per game this season, so Westinghouse's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Whitney Young is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Saint Ignatius College Prep get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Dolphins' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois flag football rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 77th).

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Whitney Young's defense and their four sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Ja'Mya Hamilton. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one sack the last 16 times she's played.

Meanwhile, Westinghouse waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Chicago Hope Academy, sneaking past 14-12.

Whitney Young's win bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Westinghouse, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6-1.

Everything came up roses for Whitney Young against Westinghouse in their previous meeting back in September, as the squad secured a 44-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dolphins since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
