Volleyball Game Preview: Swallows Charter Academy Spartans vs. Rye Thunderbolts

Swallows Charter Academy is 1-9 against Rye since October of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Spartans will welcome the Thunderbolts at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Swallows Charter Academy comes in on three and Rye on four.

On Thursday, Swallows Charter Academy got the win against Rocky Ford by a conclusive 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-12, 25-13.

Swallows Charter Academy found their leader in sophomore Riley James, who had seven digs and seven aces.

Swallows Charter Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in ten consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Rye made easy work of Pueblo Centennial on Monday and carried off a 3-0 win.

One reason for the win was Rye's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-15, 25-5.

Swallows Charter Academy's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Rye, their win bumped their record up to 16-6.
