Volleyball Recap: Tomahawk Hatchets vs. Stratford Tigers

After flying high against Antigo on Tuesday, Tomahawk came back down to earth. The Hatchets fell just short of the Stratford Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.

Tomahawk took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 20-25, 15-25, 25-15, 17-15.

Siennah Calkins paced Tomahawk's offense, picking up 18 kills. Calkins got some help from Shelby Borowski and her 32 assists. Sophie Olsen and Freya Alberg kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Lila Yoder went supernova For Stratford., getting 12 digs and six aces. Those six aces gave Yoder a new career-high.

Tomahawk's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Stratford, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tomahawk will square off against Lakeland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stratford, they will head out to square off against Assumption at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Royals at the right time seeing as the Royals are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
