Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fivay). They escaped with a win on Tuesday against the Mitchell Mustangs by the margin of a single free throw, 56-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Falcons have posted since December 13, 2024.

Joell Morales was nothing short of spectacular: he went 9-for-19 on his way to 20 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Those 20 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kengel Torres, who shot 63% from the field to rack up 14 points.

Loss or not, Mitchell got some senior leadership from Tristan Woodroof and Zack Harrington. Woodroof went 6-for-10 en route to 15 points, while Harrington dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. Woodroof also set a new season-high mark in field goal percentage with 60%. John Golden was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.

Fivay picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Mitchell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Fivay has already played their next game, a 78-61 defeat against Land O' Lakes on the 5th. As for Mitchell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 51-49 victory against Cypress Creek on the 5th.
