Preview: Falcon Falcons vs. Vista Ridge Wolves
Falcon is 9-1 against Vista Ridge since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Falcon Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vista Ridge Wolves at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, Falcon made easy work of Pueblo East and carried off a 61-37 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Falcon.
Karly Ohlrich and Cobelyn Wiesner were among the main playmakers for Falcon as the former scored 18 points along with 5 steals and the latter scored 18 points along with 7 assists and 5 steals. Cierra Barbary was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 4 steals and 4 blocks.
Meanwhile, Vista Ridge took care of business in their home opener on Wednesday (and then some). They breezed by Hinkley at home to the tune of 98-11. With Vista Ridge ahead 57-5 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Vista Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ajarae Gibbs, who scored 20 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Kaiser, who scored 13 points along with 8 assists and 6 rebounds.
Falcon's win lifted them to 2-0 while Pueblo East's loss dropped them down to 1-2.
Falcon beat Vista Ridge 43-36 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Will Falcon repeat their success, or does Vista Ridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
