Basketball Preview: Rocky River Ravens vs. Butler Bulldogs

Rocky River and the Bulldogs are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Rocky River Ravens will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Butler Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Markiest Houston and Tyler Showalter.

Last Friday, Rocky River ended up a good deal behind the Cougars and lost 66-51. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rocky River in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Butler waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 60-39 margin over East Mecklenburg.

Showalter was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Terrance Badio was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.

Rocky River's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Butler, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Rocky River opened the new year with a less-than-successful 63-54 defeat to the Bulldogs. Will Rocky River have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
