Springfield and Penncrest are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Springfield Cougars will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Penncrest Lions at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Things were looking good for Springfield after they put the first points on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 7-4 to Marple Newtown.

Springfield got a good showing from Jack Rae, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, Nick Corse made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Patrick O'Neill was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Penncrest also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Harriton by a score of 7-2.

Penncrest saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas DiIenno, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Penncrest, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Springfield skirted past Penncrest 4-3 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Does Springfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will Penncrest turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
