Football Recap: Newton County Academy Piles Up the Points Against Kemper Academy

Newton County Academy faced Kemper Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Generals blew past the Rams 60-12. The Generals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 22 points or more this season.

Taylor Burt threw for 110 yards and one TD on only five passes. Max Ferguson was his top target, picking up 56 receiving yards. On the ground, Cooper Savell rushed for 154 yards on only eight carries.

The victory was the third in a row for Newton County Academy, bringing their record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.0 points over those games. As for Kemper Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
