Softball Recap: Hanson Memorial Tigers vs. Erath Bobcats

If Hanson Memorial was feeling good off their 24-5 takedown of Jeanerette last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hanson Memorial Tigers fell victim to a tough 11-3 loss at the hands of the Erath Bobcats on Monday. Hanson Memorial was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Erath apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Onnie Doucet was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and nine unearned) runs off 11 hits. Doucet has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Doucet was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Camren Rochel made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4.
