Baseball Recap: Blue River Valley Takes a Loss

Blue River Valley fell victim to Blackford and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 13-0 to the Bruins. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-1 on Saturday.

Blue River Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Blackburn, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Wesson Smith also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Blue River Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Blackford, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-11.

Blue River Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-2 win against Randolph Southern on the 4th. As for Blackford, they have also already played their next matchup, a 4-2 victory against South Adams on the 4th.
