Baseball Recap: South Pasadena Takes a Loss

South Pasadena couldn't beat Monrovia on Monday even though they stacked six runs on them in the first inning. The Tigers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 8-7. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Hanson Chan was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jon Bracamonte made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Gurfein, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

South Pasadena's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Monrovia, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wildcats beat South Pasadena by a score of 3-0 on Thursday.
