Softball Recap: Gilmer Comes Up Short

Gilmer and Heritage squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Gilmer had to settle for second. They came up short against the Generals, falling 8-2. The Bobcats' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Braley Stewart made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Jaylee McDaniel was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Gilmer's defeat dropped their record down to 16-16. As for Heritage, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

As of now, neither Gilmer nor Heritage have any future games scheduled.
