Recap: Bridgewater/Emery Huskies vs. Freeman Flyers
The Bridgewater/Emery Huskies lost against the Freeman Flyers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Bridgewater/Emery took a 59-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Freeman. While losing is never fun, Bridgewater/Emery can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Freeman is ranked 25th).
Freeman was led to victory by Rylee Peters and Ashlin Jacobsen. Peters scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, while Jacobsen scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Jacobsen has scored at least 25% of Freeman's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vaida Ammann, who scored six points along with five steals.
Bridgewater/Emery bumped their record down to 3-4 with that loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Freeman, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Bridgewater/Emery will head out on the road to face off against Ethan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Freeman, they will be playing at home against Parker at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Parker comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
