Football Game Preview: Towers Titans vs. Gordon Lee Trojans

After each having a week off, the Towers Titans and the Gordon Lee Trojans will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on the 14th. Towers has given up an average of 25.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Thursday, Towers took a blow against Social Circle, falling 49-15. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The losing side was boosted by Quaricus Hurley, who rushed for 68 yards, and also threw for 19 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Gordon Lee entered their tilt with Fannin County on Thursday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They beat the Rebels by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 45-7. With the Trojans ahead 35-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

A big part of Gordon Lee's win came down to the chemistry between Dustin Day and his top target Landon Norton. Day threw for 217 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 91.7% of his passes while Norton picked up 82 receiving yards and one score. The dominant performance also gave Day a new career-high in passer rating (170.1).

Gordon Lee was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 291 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 152 rushing yards in 20 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Towers' loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Gordon Lee, their record now sits at 9-1.
