Basketball Game Preview: Hillcrest Trojans vs. Rancho Verde Mustangs

The Hillcrest Trojans will take on the Rancho Verde Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hillcrest knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Rancho Verde likes a good challenge.

Hillcrest is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Valley View: they outscored them in every quarter. Hillcrest was the clear victor by a 71-47 margin over Valley View on Tuesday. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Rancho Verde unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 61-52 to Poly.

Hillcrest's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Rancho Verde, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-4.
