Gilmer is a perfect 9-0 against Spring Hill since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Buckeyes will head out to challenge the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Gilmer has given up an average of 41.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Gilmer is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 38 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Pleasant Grove on Thursday. They were outmatched by the Hawks and fell 41-7. The Buckeyes haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the loss, Gilmer saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tayveon Horne rushed for 87 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Spring Hill, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They breezed past North Lamar to the tune of 65-23 on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what Spring Hill needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Spring Hill's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Gilmer, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-6.

Everything came up roses for Gilmer against Spring Hill in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 59-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buckeyes since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
