Basketball Recap: Juab Comes Up Short at Home Against Morgan

Juab unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 70-52 bruising from the Morgan Trojans on Thursday. The Wasps were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Morgan was led to victory by Bella Nelson and Makayla Williams. Nelson shot 4-for-7 from long range and dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 steals, while Williams went 9-for-17 to rack up 25 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. That's the most boards Williams has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zoe Rockenfield, who earned ten points and five assists.

The victory got Morgan back to even at 1-1.

Juab has already played their next contest, a 47-42 loss against Juan Diego Catholic on the 21st. As for Morgan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 70-52 defeat against Wasatch on the 21st.
