Basketball Game Preview: Falmouth Navigators vs. Deering Rams

The Falmouth Navigators and the Deering Rams will compete for holiday cheer at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Falmouth will be strutting in after a win while Deering will be coming in after a loss.

Deering is hoping to do what Marshwood couldn't on Thursday: put an end to Falmouth's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Falmouth slipped by Marshwood 44-43.

Meanwhile, Deering came up short against Noble on Thursday and fell 59-47. The contest marked the Rams' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Deering dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.4 points per game. As for Falmouth, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Falmouth couldn't quite finish off Deering in their previous meeting back in March of 2021 and fell 69-67. Can Falmouth avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
