Football Game Preview: Tulare Western Mustangs vs. Lemoore Tigers + How To Watch

The Tulare Western Mustangs will head out to challenge the Lemoore Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tulare Western has given up an average of 27.4 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tulare Western is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Hanford on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Mustangs were dealt a 55-14 defeat at the hands of the Bullpups. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 274th, while the Bullpups are ranked 133rd).

Despite the loss, Tulare Western got top-tier performance from Preston Seechan, who rushed for 173 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Seechan is now averaging an impressive 104.4 rushing yards per game. Tulare Western also got help from Amarion Taylor, who showed off his sure hands for 95 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Lemoore was able to grind out a solid win over Dinuba on Friday, taking the game 20-13. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Emperors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Lemoore didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Prince Logan, Jaiden Wright, and Kino Kapea picked up one apiece. Kapea also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 15.

This is the second loss in a row for Tulare Western and nudges their season record down to 5-3. As for Lemoore, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Tulare Western was able to grind out a solid victory over Lemoore in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 14-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
