Basketball Game Preview: Green Mountain Chieftains vs. Bellows Falls Terriers

The Green Mountain Chieftains will challenge the Bellows Falls Terriers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Last Saturday, Green Mountain came up short against Bellows Falls and fell 49-38. The Chieftains have struggled against the Terriers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.

Bellows Falls found their leader in sophomore Abby Nystrom, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten steals. What's more, Nystrom posted five rebounds, the most she's had since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Laura Kamel, who shot 50% from the field on her way to 16 points.

Bellows Falls smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Bellows Falls is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That lines up perfectly with their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points over those games. Green Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
