Football Recap: Abby Kelley Foster Takes a Loss

Abby Kelley Foster extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Southbridge Pioneers. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pioneers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Southbridge's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

JJ Maldonado Cosme was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 55 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 157 yards on nine of 18 attempts.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Abby Kelley Foster will welcome Keefe Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos' defense has only allowed 10.6 points per game this season, so the Bears' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Southbridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Prouty at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
