Softball Recap: Lockport Comes Up Short

Lockport fell victim to Lincoln-Way West and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-2 loss back in April.

Lockport has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-10-1 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln-Way West, they pushed their record up to 22-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lockport will host Homewood-Flossmoor at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lincoln-Way West, they will welcome Bradley-Bourbonnais at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Boilermakers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
