League recap: Burchard dominating on the mound for LaBelle

4A District 11 league recap: 3/27/13

LaBelle's Travis Burchard was the best pitcher in 4A District 11 this week. He picked up one win and ten strikeouts.

The league's longest active winning streak belongs to Bishop Verot (13-3, 8-0), undefeated over its last five games.

The Vikings' pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only one hit and one walk, both of which led the league.

The league boasted seven .400 hitters over the past week. They were led by Jacob Yaeger, who hit .727 this week (8-for-11).

Clewiston's Justin Goldberg led the league in strikeouts this week with 11. He's seventh in the league with 29 total strikeouts.



Seth Dehaven drove in five runners on Tuesday in Bishop Verot's 18-0 victory over the Cowboys. He went 4-for-5 and scored three runs.

Goldberg struck out 11 in the Tigers' 11-1 win over Dunbar on March 19. Over six innings of work, he gave up two hits and one run.
