Baseball Game Preview: Letchworth Legends vs. Caledonia-Mumford Raiders

The Letchworth Legends will venture away from home to take on the Caledonia-Mumford Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Letchworth has given up an average of 10.4 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Le Roy hit Letchworth with a 12-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Legends came up short against the Oatkan Knights, falling 15-2. The Legends have struggled against the Oatkan Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Caledonia-Mumford suffered their closest loss since April 18th on Saturday. They fell just short of Keshequa by a score of 9-7.

Trent Moser and Dillon Alcott stepped up to the plate in a big way. Moser went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Alcott got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Letchworth's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Caledonia-Mumford, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 8-8.

Letchworth couldn't quite finish off Caledonia-Mumford in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 and fell 11-9. Can the Legends avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
