Baseball Game Preview: Midway Green Wave vs. Harriman Blue Devils

For the second straight game, Midway will face off against Harriman. The Green Wave will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Midway has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while Harriman will arrive with three straight wins.

Midway managed to slip by Harriman the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Green Wave came up short against the Blue Devils on Monday, falling 11-5.

For Harriman's part, Jacob Hawn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Hawn was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brayden Knobloch, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cam Best, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Midway's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Harriman, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
