Football Game Preview: South Garner Titans vs. Cleveland Rams + Official Tickets

South Garner hasn't had much luck against Cleveland recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Titans will venture away from home to square off against the Rams at 7:30 p.m. South Garner will be strutting in after a win while Cleveland will be coming in after a defeat.

South Garner is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 62-14 victory over South Central. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won four games by 20 points or more so far this season.

South Garner's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alijah Clarke, who rushed for 333 yards and five scores on only 15 carries. The Titans are undefeated when Clarke posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 2-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Chase Hardy, who rushed for 218 yards and three TDs on only ten carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: South Garner was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 603 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 164 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Cleveland faced Clayton in a battle between two of the state's top teams two weeks ago. The contest between the Rams and the Comets didn't end well, with the Rams falling 20-3. The game marked the Rams' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

South Garner's record now sits at 5-6. As for Cleveland, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. South Garner has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 219.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Cleveland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 190.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

South Garner lost to Cleveland on the road by a decisive 42-28 margin when the teams last played back in September. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
