Basketball Recap: Westmoore Falls Short of Broken Arrow in the Playoffs

Westmoore and Broken Arrow squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Westmoore had to settle for second. They took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Broken Arrow Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 69-56 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.

Broken Arrow was led to victory by McKenzie Mathurin and Macy Marraccini. Mathurin posted 18 points and five boards, while Marraccini scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Mathurin is crushing it when it comes to points: she's scored at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Peyton Dolan, who had six points.

Westmoore's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points over those games. As for Broken Arrow, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-2.

Westmoore does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Broken Arrow, they will take on Owasso at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
