Preview: Parkland Mustangs vs. West Forsyth Titans

Parkland is 0-10 against West Forsyth since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Parkland Mustangs will be playing at home against the West Forsyth Titans at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Parkland suffered their biggest defeat since December 4, 2023 last Wednesday. They suffered a tough 73-53 loss at the hands of Mount Tabor. While losing is never fun, Parkland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while Mount Tabor is ranked 23rd).

Parkland's loss came about despite a quality game from Joshua Moore, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Moore hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was SaMaurie Moses, who scored nine points along with two steals.

Meanwhile, West Forsyth pushed their score all the way to 71 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 78-71 to Davie. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (59), West Forsyth still had to take the loss.

Parkland's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for West Forsyth, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-4.

Things could have been worse for Parkland, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 70-51 loss to West Forsyth when the teams last played back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of West Forsyth's Jacari Brim, who scored 34 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Now that Parkland knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
