Basketball Recap: Start Takes a Loss

Start was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 67-65 heartbreaker at the hands of the Anthony Wayne Generals. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Generals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.

Start's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Anthony Wayne, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Start will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lima Senior at 7:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Lima Senior knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Start likes a good challenge. As for Anthony Wayne, they will square off against Bowling Green at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Anthony Wayne is facing Bowling Green at the right time seeing as Bowling Green is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
