Basketball Game Preview: Glenn Falcons vs. South Bend Saint Joseph Huskies

The Glenn Falcons will head out to challenge the South Bend Saint Joseph Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Glenn sitting on three straight victories and South Bend Saint Joseph on four.

On Tuesday, Glenn earned a 46-39 win over Westville.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Glenn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mia Hurford, who went 5-for-12 on her way to 15 points and three steals. The matchup was Hurford's third in a row with at least 15 points. Rory Winchell also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

South Bend Saint Joseph meant business on Monday, getting buckets from all over the court against a Eagles squad that has allowed just 26.5 points per contest. The Huskies came out on top against Elkhart Christian Academy by a score of 63-54.

Glenn better keep an eye on Arianna Rowell. She was instrumental in South Bend Saint Joseph's win, shooting 61% from the field to rack up 32 points and six rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Rowell has scored at least a third of the Huskies' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Karli Brooke, who posted ten points and five boards.

Glenn's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for South Bend Saint Joseph, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Glenn has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 24.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like South Bend Saint Joseph struggles in that department as they've been averaging 39.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

Glenn came up short against South Bend Saint Joseph in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 46-35. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
