Volleyball Recap: Griffith Takes a Loss

Griffith was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Kankakee Valley Kougars, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

While Griffith was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-7, 25-23.

Saniya Harper paced Griffith's offense, picking up six kills. Harper got some help from Kaelin Bergdahl and her nine assists. Harper was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kankakee Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emmie Przybylski, who had ten digs. Ella Dixon was another key player, getting 16 assists and three digs.

Griffith's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Kankakee Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Griffith wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against River Forest on the 25th. As for Kankakee Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Highland on the 25th.
