Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Fairhope's Ninth in Last 12 Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Daphne, Fairhope was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Satsuma Gators a 6-0 shutout. The Pirates not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 10th.

Fairhope got a great performance from McKenzie DuBois as she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave DuBois a new career-low in earned runs (zero).

On the hitting side, Briley Bolden and Emma Stewart did most of the damage at the plate: Bolden scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Stewart went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base. That's the most hits Bolden has posted over her last ten matchups. Another player making a difference was Mia Gates, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Fairhope has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. Satsuma moved to 12-8-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Fairhope has already played their next game, a 9-6 defeat against Orange Beach on the 21st. As for Satsuma, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-7 win against Ocean Springs on the 21st.
