Basketball Game Preview: North Hunterdon Lions vs. Phillipsburg Stateliners

North Hunterdon and Phillipsburg are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The North Hunterdon Lions will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Phillipsburg Stateliners at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

North Hunterdon came up into this matchup off a tough 27-point defeat on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Bridgewater-Raritan by a score of 29-27 on Thursday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Phillipsburg was beaten by Gill St. Bernard's 69-17 on Thursday.

Phillipsburg's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 0-2. As for North Hunterdon, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

North Hunterdon didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Phillipsburg in their previous meeting back in February, but they still walked away with a 49-43 win. Will North Hunterdon repeat their success, or does Phillipsburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
