Softball Recap: Mesa Ridge Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home + How To Watch

Mesa Ridge dropped to 2-3 on Friday, ending the team's six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Alamosa Mean Moose by a score of 8-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Grizzlies of the 8-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Kaitlyn Fielder was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles. Reagan Fabrizi was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

As for Alamosa, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games.

On Alamosa's side, Araceli Molina and Shaya Martin did most of the damage at the plate: Molina went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Martin went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave Martin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayden Wubben, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Coincidentally, Mesa Ridge and Alamosa will both be playing George Washington the next time they take the field. The Grizzlies will host the Patriots at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, while the Mean Moose will play them later in the day, at 5:15 p.m.
