Basketball Recap: Washougal Comes Up Short

Washougal lost against Mark Morris back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Washougal Panthers lost 65-45 to the Mark Morris Monarchs. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while the Monarchs are ranked 55th).

Washougal has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Mark Morris, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2.

Washougal will host Hockinson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Washougal is facing Hockinson at the right time seeing as Hockinson is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Mark Morris, they will head out to face off against R.A. Long at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mark Morris knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully R.A. Long likes a good challenge.
