Soccer Game Preview: Oceanside vs. Lincoln Academy

Oceanside hasn't had much luck against Lincoln Academy recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Mariners will face off against the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Oceanside proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by eight) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over Cony. Oceanside's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three contests.

Meanwhile, Lincoln Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Cony on Tuesday and fell 2-1.

Oceanside's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Lincoln Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4-3.

Oceanside was able to grind out a solid win over Lincoln Academy when the teams last played back in September, winning 2-0. Will the Mariners repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
