Football Recap: Laguna Creek Takes a Loss

Laguna Creek played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Elk Grove Thundering Herd, falling 28-7. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their loss to the Thundering Herd from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Laguna Creek lost, don't look at Keian Smith. Despite the final result, he picked up 145 receiving yards and one TD. Smith really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 74 yards.

Elk Grove's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hudson Hall led the charge by rushing for 33 yards and a pair of scores.

Laguna Creek's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Elk Grove, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-4.

Laguna Creek didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 49-14 victory against Davis Sr. on the 17th. As for Elk Grove, they have also already played their next contest, a 51-0 win against Sheldon on the 17th.
