Football Recap: Keyon Robinson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Kennedy

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Madison Prep Academy had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past the Kennedy Cougars with points to spare, taking the game 42-26. The win made it back-to-back victories for Madison Prep Academy.

Madison Prep Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keyon Robinson led the charge by picking up 172 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Those 172 receiving yards gave Robinson a new career-high. Landon Johnson did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 45 receiving yards.

Another reason for the win was Madison Prep Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 11 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Darius Mack and Jamyris Allen, who racked up six sacks between them.

Madison Prep Academy's record now sits at 9-2. As for Kennedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Coming up, Madison Prep Academy will square off against University Lab at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cubs' defense has only allowed 13.1 points per game this season, so Madison Prep Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. Kennedy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
