Football Recap: Archer City Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Archer City extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-8. They lost 50-24 to the Petrolia Pirates. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Parker Hilbers threw for 32 yards on two of six attempts. Reid Truette was his top target, picking up 32 receiving yards. On the ground, Casen Booher rushed for 172 yards and three touchdowns.

As for Petrolia, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Petrolia's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kason Gee, who rushed for 211 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries. Gee really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run. Brodie Jackson was another key player, rushing for 162 yards and three scores on only 14 carries.

Archer City didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 56-38 defeat against Seymour on the 7th. As for Petrolia, they have also already played their next contest, a 64-22 loss against Windthorst on the 7th.
