Basketball Recap: Briggsdale Falls to Dayspring Christian Academy in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Briggsdale kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles, falling 65-41. The game was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Falcons struggled afterwards.

Eli Gilmore was a one-man wrecking crew For Dayspring Christian Academy. as he shot 50% from the field en route to 19 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Gilmore is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Micah Rutz, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 17 points and six assists.

Looking ahead, Briggsdale will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Genoa-Hugo/Karval at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Byers at 5:00 p.m. on the 13th.
