Volleyball Recap: Meridian Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Meridian and New Kent squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Meridian had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Trojans when the teams met back in April of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Meridian ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 22-25, 25-20, 25-17.

Desirae Stowe had a dynamite game For New Kent., getting 23 assists and 11 digs. That's the most digs Stowe has posted over her last six matches. Carina Dolci also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Meridian and nudges their season record down to 17-8. As for New Kent, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-4.

Meridian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Kent, they will face off against Christiansburg on Tuesday.
