It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Arvada West ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Cherokee Trail Cougars 4-3. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Levi Lueck was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Kellen Conley also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Arvada West's victory bumped their record up to 7-1-1. As for Cherokee Trail, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arvada West will head out to challenge Fort Collins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cherokee Trail, they will venture away from home to take on Heritage at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
